Irish born jeweller designer Natasha Heaslip has been based in London since 1994. In 1998, after completing her MA at London Guildhall University, Natasha set up her jewellery studio in Angel, Islington and has since then, been invited to, and has exhibited her work throughout the UK, Ireland, France and other parts of Europe - also receiving good and relevant press. Originally trained as a sculptor, has now become a reputable jeweller and has been selected to exhibit at the well known ‘Goldsmiths Fair’ in October this year.
She supplies up to twenty shops and galleries in the UK, Ireland and Norway, including Diane Porters Gallery in Bristol and more recently Design Yard @ Whichcraft in Dublin. She has also sold to Selfridges Department Store in London and The Museum of London. Natasha also exhibits with the renowned ‘Dazzle’ shows, which are held in Edinburgh, Manchester and London. She also has been invited to show at various gallery exhibitions throughout the year, most recently with Gill Wing Gallery, London, Turning Heads in Brighton and Eton applied Arts.
Natasha achievements have been reward by being selected as one of ‘eight of the best' for the Platinum Design Innovation Award ‘03, sponsored by Johnson & Matthey. She has also been a guest speaker at a seminar in Dublin by The Craft Council of Ireland, and at Cockpit arts DPP course. The Princes Trust has supported the business since July 2000 and she also received the Clerkenwell Green Award in September 2000.
She sees her work as a form of ‘body language’, she aims to complement the body, convey a sense of energy, and retain beautiful craftsmanship. Natasha designs and makes new work continuously, either creating new collections, adding to existing ones or making one-off pieces. She is very passionate about gemmology, and has developed some attractive, unconventional ways to set stones.
